How to read FRED data easily

I am using Eviews for teaching. It used to be the case that I could introduce the URL of a FRED time series file and
Eviews read it automatically or via wfopen in the command windows. I have tried both ways and I get

Web server errors an SSL-enabled server port .<br/>.

Is it because is not possible to do what I want any more?? Does Ewiews wants me to go to FRED as a database and work from there??
I need something quick (3seconds) to use it while I am teaching.

We haven't changed anything. It might be that FRED is blocking direct url access. We will investigate.

What version of EViews are you using and what is the build date? The information can be found by selecting help->About EViews.


Secondly can you post a screenshot of the error you are receiving?
