Behavioral equilibrium exchange rate model -BEER

Postby wawessh » Tue Apr 28, 2015 10:11 am

I want to estimate Equilibrium Real Exchange Rate with BEER.

I have a lot of problems with my variables.

First.
I want to calculate Government consolidated gross debt % GDP. When I want to seasonally adjusting the Government consolidated gross debt (mil eur) with tramo/seats, but I have a problem. In the generated _sa series it is only "na na na na na na na na na na". Instead, the generated _sa series for GDP(mil euro) is correct.

Why not for Government consolidated gross debt series?

I am also having a problem with calculating BEER. This is not a software issue, I would appreciate if someone could tell me is that the right way of calculating BEER...

I've picked several variables and obtained their coefficients...dependent variable is the exchange rate, in my case AUDNZD...
so I get the coefficients and write equasion for calculating BEER with those coefficients
=0,487333+0,091064*C2+0,482006*A2+0,088213*E2+0,413679*B2

and I calculate BEER with those coefficients, and at the end, I get this

Graphically that looks like this:

In the equation for calculation BEER the residuals/error term are/is left over (if they would be used, I would get the value of the actual past exchange rate!

I am using the method on advice of this working paper, page 19, section 8.2. (q and qtbeer)
