copying linked series between workfiles

i have a workfile that contains many series linked to an external database. when i drag and drop such a series into another workfile manually, the series in the destination workbook is also linked to the external database, which is what i want. when i try to program this process with the "copy" command, the new series in the destination workfile is not linked to the external database. i tried the "link" argument to no avail (I think this would simply link to the other workbook and not to the external database, no?)

is there a way to program the result i get with a manual drag and drop? thank you.
