Ok
Once again something basic seems to be eluding me. I have a data-set of 1300 elephant tusks, and know the date each was used up as a carving.
The date format is dd/mm/yy
I'm trying to work out the days from when it was released to the legal carving factories (ie. how long a tusk lasts before it is depleted).
I've tried the function @datediff(date1, date2, format)
Can't figure out how to convert a date as dd/mm/yy format into a number like 730088.0. I'm sure it's pretty basic, but my searching of the guides hasn't helped.
I'm using Eviews 7 still
Cheers, B

Ok, that's the first basic problem solved.
Change the value display from days.
Now just to work out how to find the numeric value of specific dates.
