trouble reading the decimal after comma

Postby pozorhan » Tue Jul 15, 2014 7:08 am

Hi, this may be foolish to ask however I have trouble importing data from excel to eviews. For example my data is 2,88419849281784 in excel but when I do copy paste it reads 2.00000000 in eviews. I tried to change the commas to dots in excel by find/replace (didn't work) and also by using file/options/advanced/use system separators/ decimal- dots (didn't work either). I also tried the paste special option in eviews still I have problem in getting the data right. What else can I do? thank you

Could you post the Excel file? That sounds weird.

How did you open it in EViews?

I just dragged that Excel file on to EViews, hit "Finish", and all the numbers worked just fine.
