Seasonal adjustment graph

Postby sven77 » Sat Apr 19, 2014 11:39 am

Hi.

I would like to know if there is necessary to perform seasonal adjustment on employment just by looking on the graphs mentioned below (raw data).

Thanks in advance.

Hi
If you can see repetitive peaks/ troughs in the chart then you could consider seasonally adjusting the series. However, x12 has formal seasonality tests (d8a, m7 and g0 spectrum) that could be used to ascertain whether there is seasonality or not. Hope this helps.
