I am using quiet mode already to suppress the status bar updates, which speeds up execution. I was wondering if it is also possible to suppress the workfile display updates, since all objects created during execution are still displayed in quiet mode, not to mention, filtered, if a filter is chosen for the object list. The command manual seems to say such a thing is available, but I get workfile updates nonetheless:
"Verbose mode in which messages will be sent to the status
line at the bottom of the EViews window (slower execu-
tion), or quiet mode which suppresses workfile display
updates (faster execution)."

When you use quiet mode, workfile display updates are performed a lot less frequently. It shouldn't make any difference to the run time of your program.
Re: Suppress workfile display updates for faster execution
Thanks, that's what I wanted to know, as you cannot really see what happens with the display updates. Maybe this bit could be added to the manual though?
