Hi
I want to import data from the EUKLEMS database. How can I import the data when it is in .txt format. The file is too big to upload (16 mb), please have a look at it at http://www.euklems.net/, All countries Basic Files.
I tried wfopen(type=txt) "all_countries_09I.txt" delim=comma, but i get an error message telling me that Alpha series truncated to maximum length.
Sincerely
Thomas von Brasch

I don't see where to download the file, so can't try it, but changing the maximum size of alpha series might help you. Options->General Options->Series and Alphas->Alpha Series.

Hi
Here is a zipped version with eu countries.
can you please have a look at it? It seems that everything is imported in the alpha series.
sincerely

Seems to work just fine for me. I end up with a 3D panel.

Re: Importing .txt from the EUKLEMS database
Hi again Gareth, and thanks for your reply. You are right; the file i uploaded gives me a 3d panel. The difference between this file and the other larger file is that each line is separated with a quotation mark. I have made a copy of a portion of this file (gareth.txt) and attached it to this message. My problem is how can I make eviews understand that the quotation marks represents a delimiter ?
Thanks again for looking at this
