Hi, I have experienced a strange error message when I was trying to update a local eviews database.
It says:
"Database Error: file IO failed" (see attached screenshot)
Does anyone know what's the cause of this error? is it because writing to a database was interrupted before and corrupted the db files?
I tried to use proc=>repair the database, but it didn't work by saying: Database Error: "Allocation information inconsistant. Rebuild file immediately!"
Many thanks!

Re: error message: "Database error: file IO failed"
Yep, looks like it was corrupted. You should rebuild it. Use:
which will rebuild the old database into a new one called newbond. You can then use that new one instead.
Code: Select all
dbrebuild y:\database\bond.edb y:\database\newbond.edb
Re: error message: "Database error: file IO failed"
just tried it and it works. Thanks!
