Hello,
We would like to export data fom Eviews into a format that can be used by Fame. We are using the pagesave command and have tried saving into "dbase" format (which Fame can read) but we are getting an error message "write access not supported". We have checked our programme using other options (eg export to excel) and it works fine. Any suggestions on what might be going wrong?
Here is the relevant section of our programme:
for %y "graph1" "graph2"
%exp{%y}=%location+"healthcare\"+%{%y}name+".dbf"
pagesave(type=dbase) %exp{%y} @keep id01 %{%y}var @smpl 1995 2010
next
...and here is the error message
Write access not supported for dBASE file(*.dbf) format datasets in "PAGESAVE(TYPE=DBASE) "S:\UNITS\CS1\ISRAEL\SURVEY 2013\HEA ...
Export data for use in Fame

Re: Export data for use in Fame
I'm afraid we only support reading from .dbf format files.
It's a very old file format so we're unlikely to change this. Could you use an excel file or a text file (.csv?) instead?
Also - EViews (Enteprise edition) does support direct read and write access to FAME datasets. You would need the FAME C HLI installed on your system (which is part of FAME's software). You would have to contact your FAME representative to see if this is already avaiable on your system.
