cross-section panel data regression

Postby zaher89 » Fri Apr 13, 2012 10:56 am

Hello,

I am using EViews 6, my study exames the relation between economic growth and government using 74 countries between the period 1970 to 2006 so my equation be:
GDP c DEMO LIFE POP EN CORP GOV EDU
since am new to eviews i used a panel data and imported it into workfile and estimated the equation further i need help to analyze the model.. what should i do? and how ?

Thanks

Hi

First, run the equation in the Eviews. Explore the estimation output, i.e., coefficients estimates, p-value , Adj R2 to test usefulness of your model and each variable in the model. If p-values are less than 0.01000 it means that your variables are significant predictor otherwise not. Adj R2 is also a useful indicator of model explanatory power the higher the value the better the fit . You can run other diagnostics such as heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation tests for further check on model robustness.
