GMM/DPD

Postby dia » Wed Apr 20, 2011 11:40 am

Dear all,
I'm currently trying to do a GMM/DPD estimation on panel data with 3 variables; 450 observations & 1 lag
I received an error message from eviews: "number of instruments greater than number of observation"
I think however that the number of observations is high enough to do the regression and that the problem would come from elsewhere!
am I right? could someone help me?
It could be because I use the student version of Eviews?

thx

The most likely cause is just as the error message states - the particular DPD structure you've chosen has led to a specification where there are more instruments than observations, thus the calculation cannot be performed.

thanks for your response; I was afraid that it is related to my software (eviews for students), I'll review my data & DPD structure!
