Plot

Postby Envirogate » Mon Apr 04, 2011 9:32 am

Hi everyone,

I was trying to work with panel estimation. After estimation, I wanted to plot the dependent variable against a independent variable to get a parabola showing that the trend goes up for some time but decline overtime.

Another question is when i used the fixed effect option an error near singular matrix pops up. No prob with random effect. I have variable GDP and GDP square. When I drop GDP square no problem.

Can anyone tell me how to do it in eviews?

Thanks

Put the dependent and independent variables into a group, then select View->Graph->XY Line.

The singular matrix error is probably because you've got some sort of perfect collinearity between your regressors (including the fixed effects).

Thanks for the quick response. But the suggested procedures will only help on the actual values of my variables. I wanted to plot the fitted or post estimation.

Then use the forecast button to generate the fitted values.
