Problems with zero observations and with merging workfiles

Postby lucaski » Mon Jan 10, 2011 4:06 pm

Hello i'm using the Eviews version 7 and I'm having 2 problens.
1 - I have 2 workfiles, both of them are undated, have just 1 series and came with a lot of zeros that don't have any meaning so I need to extract then from my workfiles, I am new with Eviews, how can I do that?
2 - After I have extracted the zeros I need to put the 2 series, in a single workfile, remembering that both of the series are undated and do not share the same dates, I wanna know if it is possible to do this kind of merge without losing data and without creating NA observations?

In the workfile with the zeros, click on Proc->Contract Current Page. Then in the box type:

if x<>0

Where X is the name of the series with the zeros in it.

Yes it is possible to copy from one undated to another. Copy, then right click in the second workfile and select Paste Special to get the match-merge options.
