LSDV Estimator in Eviews 5.1

Postby t_oskay » Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:54 am

Hi.

I would like to run a panel model on Eviews 5.1 by using fixed effects.

While using fixed effect, would it be enough to select "Fixed Effect" option in Cross Section tab in "Panel Options". Or should i select "Fixed Effect" option in both Cross Section and Period tab.

I just need a simple estimation result, am not working on something complex.

Do you want to use cross-section fixed effects, period fixed effects, or both?

I'm trying to follow the steps in some articles which are similiar to my work. And there they have just written "fixed effect estimator". When they don't express it, does it mean that they have used both period and cross section fixed effects? Or shuold I read it more carefully?

Probably means they just used cross-section effects.

If it's so that's very good for me, I have obtained good results by using Cross-Section fixed effects.
By the way, Thank You!
