Excel 97-2003 files crashing Eviews

Hi

Im a recent Eviews user and Im experiencing some problems with loading Excel files data. Those files are created by an portuguese online database service (INE) and saved in Excel 1997-2003 format (old "xls" files).

When usign a command line like this:
Pageload(page=IVNI2,namepos = first,colhead=2 ) "C:\1_input\INE\IVNI2_BD.xls" range="Table!c8:iv500" there is an imediate Eviews crash (program is closed without any warning)

Nevertheless, it works fine with:
Wfopen(page=IVNI2,namepos = first,colhead=2 ) "C:\1_input\INE\IVNI2_BD.xls" range="Table!C8:IV500"

Right now I cant upload the refered file (or any other generated by the INE online database service)

Any ideas?

I'm afraid there isn't going to be much we can do without being able to see one of the Excel files

Are you using the most recent EViews update?
