read data from xlsx files

Hello,

I'm having trouble with reading data into eviews from excel spreadsheet. I'm using Eviews 7.2 (updating regularly) and Excel 2007.

When I use the following command to read data into a workfile, no thing works. The workfile is created created, and but there is no series read in.

But once, I saved my data spreadsheets as xls (purely changing the file type), and change "xlsx" to xls in the below command lines. It works perfectly. All the data get imported perfectly.

So what went wrong with xlsx spreadsheets (or my codes probably)?

The READ command doesn't support XLSX files. Use WFOPEN or IMPORT instead.
