chart resolution + pie charts+custom line width

Postby vogelh » Wed Nov 13, 2019 3:38 pm

Am in v9.5.
Was wondering if new versions have better screen and print graph resolution. Images of charts remain a bit blurry.

Would still welcome better pie chart making options.

Also would welcome custom line width option in line graphs

thanks.

There hasn't been any changes as far changing resolutions between 9 and 11. In 9 there were already some resolution settings that could be set but it is format dependent. For example, when saving to PNG you can set a custom DPI setting and the output size.

Jpegs are known to be blurry due to anti-aliasing and the algorithm used to store the image. So I do not recommend using jpgs. However formats such as png, are capable of creating high resolution images.

What format are you using?

What type of pie chart making options would you like added?

You can set line widths using the 'setelem' command and the 'linewidth' option. See http://www.eviews.com/help/helpintro.html#page/content%2Fgraphcmd-setelem.html%23ww175617

On pie charts, would like something comparable to what's long been available on Excel 2003/2007.

Online charts, would be nice to have custom line width option instead of only 3/4 pt, 1.0pt, 1.5 pt, etc. Often like something in betweem.

Will try png format for higher resolution.

Thanks.

This has been an issue. There should be an update for the resolution. The parts get blurry and are not comfortable to the eyes. Definitely not pleasing to the eyes.
