how to add trend lines by sub-periods in a line graph?

Postby anacatelen » Tue Mar 21, 2023 6:52 am

I have a line graph for the variable "Fiscal-primary-result-to-GDP ratio" for the period 1913-2020, and I want to add trend lines for the sub-periods 1913-1945, 1946-1975 & 1976-2020. How can I do that? Thank you in advance!

There isn't an easy way other than to create equations running a regression for each of those time periods against trend, creating the fitted values from those equations, and then graphing those fitted values series along side the original.
