Graph with a break in the y axis

Postby tiago sobreira » Tue Aug 11, 2020 5:42 am

I am trying to plot a line graph in eviews, but I am not being able to do this because there is a very big variance between my variables. I wanted to know if there is a way to plot a graph with a break in the y axis, so that I could represent data with huge variation between the values. (I tryed to use log, but it is impossible because there are negative values in my series). As you can see in the file attached, the huge values in the end of the series make it impossible to see the variations during other time periods.

Unfortunately not. I suspect we'll see a lot of similar looking graphs!

Thanks a lot for the help! Do you see any tool been developed to solve this problem in the foreseeable future? We are going to see many graphs with this kind of problem, as you already told me.
