Bumping this.
How should I proceed if I have a panel data and want to create a median variable that varies between year and group? Currently I have the cross-section id but then I have grouped the cross-section to 48 different groups (1-48).

I am interested in this as well. Besides getting more significant variables and higher Durbin-Watson value, my R^2 jumps also.
