Got it, thanks. I had not previously noticed the section about the "_this" keyword.

mods with variables in command?
I have a question about mods, which I find a highly useful feature. Is it possible to create a mod such that I can add an object name to the mod command and make the mod apply itself to that object? In other words, let's say I have a very simple program saved as a mod and titled "LINEMOD"....

formatting models
I would love the ability to add formatting to models for legibility, such as indenting rows or coloring things, even making comments preceded by "..." as in programs would be really nice. It would also be nice to be able to move easily move equations up and down in the Equation view. I thi...

Re: how to turn on "merge" with fetch command
Further on "merging", which is not behaving how I expect. How can I fetch data that exists in a database ranging from, say, 1980-2020, if I only want to update the data in my workfile ranging from 1980-2020 through 2015? (So workfile smpl = 2016 2020.) I really don't want to create a workp...

closing Untitled groups as workfile "change
Probably a silly request, but maybe it is easy. I would love it if I were not prompted to save a workfile as if I had made a change when the only thing I have done is open up multiple series as a temporary, Untitled group and then close that group. It seems like Eviews registers the creation and del...

how to un-maximize window
Sometimes I accidentally maximize a window, which makes it take up the entire non-command screen. I can't figure out how to un-maximize a window short of using Window>Cascade or something; but this can make me have to resize and reorganize a whole bunch of different windows if I am using a lot that ...

model identity not solving exactly
Is there any reason why an identity in a model would not solve exactly? I have a model with numerous equations, some estimated but some identities (such as totals, ratios or other relationships), and I am seeing these identities be ever so slightly off when I solve the model.

more "excel" functionality in Dated Data Table view
I guess the technical things and increased analytical/database functionality are the main requests people are making, but it would be really nice if the Dated Data Table views offered more of the functionality that Spreadsheet views do. Namely, I wish that the "auto" calculations like sum ...

Tables that change? ...or how to save customized series formats from Groups?
I regularly run and update a model, and I like to look at how certain series in the model change with each update or modification. I usually use groups to create tables for this purpose, but I am wondering if there is a better tool. Often, I want to look at both the quarterly and annual results of a...

Re: how to turn on "merge" with fetch command
That is easy! Thanks. I think this was my first time not just typing a fetch command.

how to turn on "merge" with fetch command
When I type a fetch command into the command window, I get prompted with a dialogue about whether I want to overwrite or merge the data. But if I have a fetch command in a program, it seems that the default is to overwrite, and I cannot find any options for the fetch command that would let me set it...

@force() option equivalent in X12 seasonal adjustment?
I am having some trouble getting seasonally adjusted series to match my previous program's output using the X-13 in Eviews. Previously, I have been using X-11, but the X-13 output seems to be polluted by a lot of noise in the final years, which is introducing some undesireable volatility that clearl...

Re: efficiently storing large amounts of data to server
Speaking of servers, my server just got changed to a long and cumbersome name. Is there a way to set the server option for the fetch/store command globally so that I can leave out the "server=..." part of the fetch/store commands? Right now, I write: fetch(d=MYBANK,t=F,server=MYSERVER) MYS...
