recovering elasticities

I am regressing a variable, y, measured as its growth rate on a single independent variable, x, also measured as its growth. How do I recover the elasticity between y and x from the estimated coefficient?

Thank you Mirza. That answers my questions.

Do I have the wrong user's guide?

I am using the latest upgrade for EViews 12 and the EViews 12 user's guide II. I am estimating an ARDL model with a number of independent variables and wish to recover the long-run coefficients. The user's guide outlines the procedure on pages 327-338. After estimating the base ARDL model, the long-...

Re: Adding new data to an existing sample object

Figured it out. Although solution is simple, somewhat buried in the manual.

Adding new data to an existing sample object

I have a pooled time-series cross-section model with N time-series observations for each of K cross-section units. I now have a new annual observation for each of the K cross-sections that is the latest year. I would like to be able to just type the new observations into the EViews data files by ext...

Non-linear system with pooled data

I am trying to estimate a system of four non-linear equations that use pooled data. To do this I have created a pool object and listed the cross-section identifiers. The data themselves are stored in files using the cross-section identifiers in the names, pre-indexed with whatever variable name I am...

Setting sample size in a pooled panel

I have 30 cross section units each with annual observations of a variable called X over the period 2002 to 2008. I would like to set the sample so that only the cross-section observations for each year that are above the average value of X for each year are included. I would seem to need to enter mu...

Setting sample size in a pooled cross section

I have created several EViews data files that are stacked time-series cross-sections. I did not use the pool object, but instead, just created an equation object. How do I set the sample size in the estimation window to exclude one of the stacked cross-sections? I also have crossid and dateid object...
