Hi Trubador,
thanks a lot for your hint.
The problem now is fixed: I just forgot to tell EVIEWS which particular element in the series had to be increased. Now the error does not occur anymore.
Sorry for bothering you & thanks again

Re: Error: "NA found in matrix in"
Hi Gareth,
of course you're right.
(The program should result in a season's overall score.)
Thanx a lot!

Error: "NA found in matrix in"
Dear all, in my program I get the error ""NA found in matrix in" while trying to execute a for-loop (combined with "if-then-else"). Now I'm stuck: I do not even use a matrix in these operations (just plain series) and I do not understand why NA could be a problem. I checked,...

Intercepts in Ordered Logit
Dear all, once again I'm confused: In estimating my ordered logit model I do not use an constant intercept (as I do when estimating a similar regression as ordinary least squares). The output of the ordered logit estimation gives the "LR statistic", though, which according to EVIEWS User's...

Re: Ordered Logit: Proportional Odds and Heteroscedasticity
Hello Glen,
thanks a lot for your advices! You helped me a great deal!
(And you are probably right about the Brant-test, but I just wanted to make sure, if there was an easy way to perform it which I simply overlooked)
Best regards

Ordered Logit: Proportional Odds and Heteroscedasticity
Dear all, I'm trying to estimate an ordered logit model. Now I have some problems in testing the specifications of my data. The following questions will touch both topics: "How to do it in EVIEWS?" and "How to do it [full stop]?". As my first try in the "estimation"- ca...

Re: Deleting Value Maps
Hi Garet,
thanks for your suggestion. I substituted the term, but now EVIEWS returns:
Syntax Error in "ALLVARS(1).MAP"
???
Best regards

Deleting Value Maps
Dear all, once again I'm stuck. I want to delete the value maps of all series in my work file. (I recoded at least some of my variables so the value maps don't make any sense anymore.) Based on a program you showed me I "worked" out the following: group allvars * allvars.drop resid for !i=...

command which gives out p-values?
I want to do a stepwise "regression" but not with an OLS but with an ordered probit problem. As far as I can see, the stepwise regression implemented in EVIEWS is for linear regressions exclusively? Is there a command which gives out the p-values (which I want to use as stop criterion) or ...

Re: Reverse order of ordinally scaled variables
Yes, you are right. In my case it's definitely better to create a new variable, e.g. if for one reason or another I have to analyze the "original" data later on.

Re: Reverse order of ordinally scaled variables
Yeah, thanks Glenn, thanks Gareth!
Once again you really helped me. It works fine and the idea of not overwriting the data but storing it in another variable clearly helps to avoid messing up the data..

Re: Reverse order of ordinally scaled variables
Thank yor for your help! I'm working with data from the World Values Survey. As in this questionaire for some response items the highest numerical value corresponds to the highest value of the latent variable and for them items it is the other way round I try to reverse the order of some response it...

Reverse order of ordinally scaled variables
I want to reverse the ranking order of some ordinal variables (some are 5 Likert-scales, some are 10 Likert-scales). To achieve this I recoded the values one after another, and it seems to work, though its quite awkward. Is there an easier solution for my problem? Example (5-Likert): c008 = @recode ...

recoding data from all series simultaneously?
To analyze my data I have to import a .por-file into Eviews, which works just fine. But how can I set all missing values(in all series to NA? EViews Illustrated (p. 56) recommends to use --> Quick/Generate Series...--> Generate Series by Equation (or alternatively @recode). Trouble is, I can't selec...
