how to select 2-interval observations

for example, there are 10 observations in work file such as:
1. 3
2. 7
3. 8
4. 3
5. 5
6. 1
7. 2
8. 5
9. 3
10. 6

but I want to choose the third, sixth, ninth observations for analysis,
so how to achieve that. in fact, I have more than 1000 observations .
