Re: Breakpoint Unit Root Test
Thank you very much for clarifying. I thought it may be something like that. Looking forward to the patch update to fix the bug.

Re: Breakpoint Unit Root Test
EViews advisors: any luck figuring out what's the problem? Is there a bug?
Thanks for your time on this.

Re: Breakpoint Unit Root Test
The above is one example. The other example is as mentioned in my first post. Depending on the method chosen to estimate the lag length, the probability for the t-stat can return a "NA".

Re: Breakpoint Unit Root Test
Please see attached file. Series X1. Specification of the breakpoint unit root test as follows: Trend specification - trend & intercept Break specification - trend & intercept Lag length: fixed (probability of t-stat depends on lag - 1 to 4 OK; 5 NA; 6 & 7 OK; 8 to 10 NA; 11 & 12 OK)...

Re: Breakpoint Unit Root Test
Can you provide an example? Say, I specify a Breakpoint Unit Root Test. All the chosen fields are the same except I change the method for choosing lag length. When Schwarz is chosen, the probability for t-stat returns a "NA". All other methods for choosing lag length has a probability val...

Breakpoint Unit Root Test
Hi, Is there a bug in the Breakpoint Unit Root Test procedure? I noticed that, depending on the option selected for estimating the lag length (e.g. Akaike, Schwarz etc.), the value for probability can return a "NA". Has anyone else encountered this? (I'm using EViews 9.5.) Thanks for any i...

Re: Update
Hmmm... when will EViews 7 be out?EViews 7 will have a feature whereby it will automatically check for updates every time you launch (unless you tell it not to).

Re: Storing sequence of equations for viewing
Actually, just to share, I'm now using the spool option and it's quite convenient.

Re: Storing sequence of equations for viewing
Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I can try a spool but perhaps the easiest (most convenient) thing to do is to have a Word file open and just copy and paste what is needed as I go along with the equations.

Re: Storing sequence of equations for viewing
Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I know untitled equations can be used and I have done that before. What I am saying is that, from a user's perspective, it would be good to have one window containing the sequence of equations which I can then easily save. E.g. when you do a "general-to-specific...

Re: Storing sequence of equations for viewing
Can this be incorporated into EViews? -- when you do an estimation, the results appear. Then you may try another estimation and the new results appear ... and so on. But you lose the previous results unless you save it. Can it be done so that you get to view previous estimations and compare? You ma...

Re: Update
I don't think a forum to announce updates will be needed - if you are already visiting this site, you can easily look at the "downloads" link to check on updates. But an e-mail subscription list will be useful to obtain alerts on updates. Good idea! :)
