log of non-positive number

Hi,

I am trying to run a simple VAR but everytime I run it, it leads to errors like "Log of non-positive number" and the VAR page shuts down. How do I avoid this.

You're going to have to say a lot more about what you're doing. Perhaps post your workfile and the command that caused the problem.

Please find attached the workfile. I am running a VAR with the following variables


b1 b10 b11 b12 b13 b14 b15 b16 b17 b18 b19 b2 b20 b3 b4 b5 b6 b7 b8 b9 nb1 nb10 nb11 nb12 nb13 nb14 nb2 nb3 nb4 nb5 nb6 nb7 nb8 nb9 hf pc


and the message "log of non-positive number" keeps popping up as you can see from the attached screenshot. How do I overcome this problem?

Works fine for me. Is your copy of EViews up-to-date?

I am using eviews 10

Did u include all the 36 variables I mentioned in the VAR? Inclusion of pc is leading to problems.

Hello,

I'm able to reproduce your issue with EViews 10. It appears that there is multicollinearity among your regressors, which is causing an internal descriptive statistic to fail (EViews 11 skips this statistic).
