Residual check

Postby jlbrillet » Tue Apr 14, 2009 6:35 am

Hello,

Sometimes the "d=f" option in the SOLVE statement does not work. It seems to use data from the previous period uinstead of the present one.

This is true even for simple equations (and easy to control manually) such as : x = y + z.

Jean Louis Brillet.

Could you give us a more concrete example?

Sorry, this bug seems to have disappeared with EViews 6.

I just ran the very same program on the very same files with the two versions. 6 works, not 5.

In an equation for labour productivity :

PL = Q / LF

Version 5 actually computed :

PL = Q(-1)/LF

Both Q and LF appear as lagged in other parts of the program, Q with lag 2.

ok.

Obviously we're no longer fixing bugs in EViews 5, so we probably fixed it at some point in 6.

You should check your copy of EViews 5 against the final version posted in the downloads area.
