Gobbled program file

I wrote and ran and Eviews program file (A.prg). It ran fine in many updates to it. A further tweak caused EViews to crash, an on booting up EViews I found that the A.prg file was no longer on my hard drive, only its phantom A.rg existed. Has an EViews gremlin gobbled my program file? And could an elf within A.rg restore it? (does A.org have the text of the code for A.prg, and if so can I extract it?)

Surprised that the .prg is missing since we really don't do anything with the file except read the contents. Unless you were in the act of saving the file.

The ~rg file should be the last backup of the prg file.

Rename the ~rg to prg...

Now that you've used up your backup, make sure to make another one :D

Indeed, you have to change the type.
