Update leading to higher run times?

Postby twash@slu.edu » Tue Mar 03, 2020 10:17 am

The update from eviews 10 to eviews 11, led to a drastic increase in the run time of my programs. A program that would run in five minutes can sometimes take hours. The slowdown appears to be due to it taking longer to generate equations. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hello,

Would you be able to post one of the programs that is running slowly in EViews 11?

Running the program on your existing workfile (replacing all the fetches with just pageselects), and the program runs in half a second.

Thus the most likely cause in any change would be due to an increase in fetch times.

Before diagnosing further, could you confirm the build date of your copy of 11? (Help->About EViews)

Also saving files takes a long time as well.

Can you update to the most recent version and see if the problem persists?

Here's a post I wrote about Troubleshooting EViews Slowness. Please take a look at that and let us know if anything seems to work.
