Graph linked series shows higher frequency data

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature ;). When I aggregate monthly series to quarterly and link the series across sheets in a work file. A line graph of the quarterly linked series shows quarterly labels on the X axis, but monthly values are plotted on the Y axis. The only way I have found to force the graph to show quarterly values is to break the links. What am I missing?
