Error, Unable to open workfile

Hi,
I'm getting an error message trying to open a workfile. "Error reading file xxx". What are possible reasons and solutions for this?

Impossible to say without more details. If possible, could you upload the file?

Looks like that file has become corrupted somehow.
Probably the easiest thing is to revert to a backup copy (or snapshot if using EViews 10 or higher).

hmm. its a newly produced workfile, from a program script (attached). is there anything to watch for on that end? for instance, would creating a group with objects from different sources cause a problem?

To be clear - you run that program, save the workfile, and then immediately try to open it, and it fails?
Also, which version of EViews?

Could you email
support@eviews.com a copy of the excel files and anything else required to run the program?
