Hello!
I have Eviews 9.5 May 1 2017 build, Excel 2010. I want to export a number of series to Excel file (.xlsx). I usually arrange my series by rows - each series has a different row. But for some reason wfsave can't correctly update my Excel file if the series length is bigger that 256 (with series name). If I create a new Excel file with wfsave everything works fine.
wfsave(type=excelxml,noid) "export.xlsx" range=data!a1 byrow
Creates new Excel file, works fine.
wfsave(type=excelxml,noid,mode=update) "export.xlsx" range=data!a1 byrow
Updates existing file, but populates columns only from A to IV even if my series is longer.
I attached the dataset, the program and Excel file.

Works for me on 9.5 and 10. You might want to update your 9.5 to the latest version.

Re: wfsave does not correctly update .xlsx files
Are you sure? I updated Eviews 9.5 to Oct 5 2017 build, but the final Excel file is the same: rows from 1 to 3 are ok (columns from A to ZZ), but rows from 5 to 7 are short (only from A to IV). So update didn't help me.
Re: wfsave does not correctly update .xlsx files
So, what is the solution to my problem?

What version of Excel are you using?
Is excel running at the time you run your EViews program?
Please try running your EViews program but shut down any or all copies of Excel. Did this make a difference?
If you remove the 'byrow' option, does all the data appear?

Re: wfsave does not correctly update .xlsx files
I use Excel 2010.
It does not matter whether Excel is running or not, the outcome is the same.
If I remove 'byrow' everything works fine.
Personally, I think that the problem is with ".xlsx" and ".xls" Excel formats. I think so because wfsave populates only columns from A to IV: as far as I remember IV is the last column in ".xls" files.

Re: wfsave does not correctly update .xlsx files
Can you verify if your copy of Excel 2010 is up to date?
Open any Office 2010 application, such as Word 2010 and create a document.
Go to File > Help > Check for Updates.
Choose Install Updates or Check for Updates. If neither option is available, follow the additional steps provided in the pop-up window that appeared after you chose Check for Updates.
