It appears that if a series is defined as a link then xput cannot send it to Matlab. Message is Object is not supported.
Sorry, but I just saw this today...
XPUT uses EViews COM code to retrieve EViews data and convert it into a VARIANT format that can be sent to the external program. And since COM GetData doesn't support reading data from series link objects, XPUT can't support it either.
However, this support will be available in the next version of EViews...
