previous versions of eviews used to handle having values pasted in from excel however the more recent versions seem to freeze and then paste in values with borders and tabs which are fiddly to remove. can you please make it work like it used to (i.e. like notepad)
thanks in advance!

Re: excel pasting
sorry, bit delayed in getting back to you.
See the attached picture. if you copy variables from the equation output and then paste into the equation dialogue (something that can be useful when manipulating the equation) it used to work nicely but in the recent version it took to adding boxes round the variables which then are very difficult to work with. as soon as the equation is estimated they disappear but it would be better if the text just went in unformatted to begin with.
hope that makes sense!

Re: excel pasting
We will get it fixed
For now, paste into notepad. Copy from notepad and then paste into the dialog. The problem is the dialog is always grabbing the rtf formatted version of the clipboard data.
