The National Institute of Economic Research in Sweden are currently in the end of a process of replacing Aremos with Eviews as the agencies' standard software and has the ambition to also replace standard data storage formats to something else. Currently we are testing storing all our data in both aremos databanks and workfiles but in the future it would perhaps be even better to use Eviews database?
In a aremosdatabank you can have a same name for a series with different frequencies. For example cpi (consumer price index) could be stored as cpi.m (monthly), cpi.q (quarterly) and cpi.a (yearly). Almost all of our series occur in different frequencies (with the same name).
As we understand its not possibly to have same seriesname with different frequency Eviews Database. Would it be possible in future?

Re: Eviews Databas - names and frequencies
No, that wouldn't be possible.
What most people do in a similar situation is store the series as CPI_Q in the database, then rename it when fetching.
