Copying series with last update...

Hello.

I would like to write a program which would copy series from one database to another. But the number of series is huge and copying all of them takes about 24 hours.

The problem would be solved if it were possible to select only series with last update after the particular date. I can make that kind of filter by making query in an opened database like "last_update > 1/1/2014". How could this be done with program code where the loop goes through all items in database and copies only series that satisfy that kind of condition.

The other way would be fetching into a workfile and storing (instead of copying) - maybe it were faster. But series in my database have not all the same frequency so i would have to make a workfile for each frequency and then fetching series with appropriate frequency - again, how do i write this condition in program code.

I would really appreciate some help.
