numbers with an "E" in it

Postby michi » Fri Jun 07, 2013 4:09 am

Hi there,
does anybody know what exactly numbers with an E in it mean? Like for example: 2,55E+08.
I thought it might be the same as 2,55*10^8, but I'm not sure.
And the more important question: How can I turn that number into a normal number? I tried stuff like xy.setformat c.9/10/11. Is that the right way?

Thanks a lot for your answer!

That is the scientific notation and yes it reads 2.55*10^8
To set the format to fixed 2-digit precision type:

Code: Select all

y.setformat f.2
