Hi,
why eviews creates files with ~f1 extension? Do I need them? For large wf1 files it doubles the space I need on my hard drive?

Can I tur off the creation of ~f1 files?

It is backup file. Go to Options\General options then Program\general

No need. Yes, they're created automatically.

Stored in same location as original file.
