Error meassage when reading file

Postby thomas84 » Thu Oct 09, 2014 5:23 am

Hi guys,

I receive this error message when I try to open my Eviews file: "File does not meet .WF1 workfile specification. See also screenshot in attached document. Any suggestions? I had done some work in this file and would like to recover it.

Thanks,
Thomas

Either it's not an EViews file or the file has been corrupted. In the latter case, if you have a backup file with the extension "~.f1" make a copy, change the extension to "wf1" and try loading that.

Thank you. How would I change the extension to wf1? I do have a "~.fi" file byt when I try to open it wiht Eviews7 it open it in a different program (virtualization client, some art design program) which is very strange. Therefore, I cannot change the extension using the "save as" function like I would normally do.

Just change in the file name in Windows.

Ok, I have done this. However, the error meassage remains to be the same. Any other ideas to restore the file? Thank you.

My guess is you're out of luck.
