Passing control and data from another app/language?

Postby TheOldCodeToad » Sun Mar 01, 2009 8:08 pm

Hi folks, looking forward to being a new user.

Too lazy at the moment to research more... do we have direct API's, web services (rest, SOAP, etc.), or ability to run within a tp or message environment. We do a lot with BI apps, but a lot is strung together with using various back end methods.

Also, can 'procedures' for lack of a better word, both programs and work done at a screen (a'la Excel) subject to being hooked into any version control system/repository? For office apps, for better or worse, we use Tortoise SVN massively modified by some WinTel guru now sunning himself in Redmond.

All help much appreciated!

I only understand about 10% of what you're talking about here, but I can tell you that EViews has no way to interact with other programs, other than having a spawn command that lets you run other executables. There is also no way that another program can interact with EViews, other than by running the EViews executable with an (optional) program name as a parameter.

There is no EViews API.
