Replacing variable names in a model

Postby jlbrillet » Thu Nov 02, 2023 10:33 am

Hello,

If I want to replace variable names in a model I can use the" "replacevar" statement. In the Help file I get:

"Replace all instances of a variable in the text specification of a model with a different variable"

However if an estimated equation has been MERGED the variable names are not replaced.

Of course I can duplicate the equation formula after estimation into an APPEND statement.

But is there a way to change the names inside the merged equation? I do not want to lose the estimation characteristics (ifor instance, if I want to solve using the stochastic option). Also, I want to be sure the duplication is correct.

Is there a way to do it.?

Best regards..

No. You would need to break the link of the equation to convert it to text, and then replace.
