Help, i can't use string for smpl range

Hi everybody,

I'm programming in Eviews9 for the job and I have a problem.
I have a date as string format (example 2015M09). I need use these string for define the range of smpl.

For example, for date as string x I need define:

smpl x @last

But, the program send me error message.

I need your help. Thanks you for everybody.
