Matrix Error in a Fetch?

Postby EIA_Elizabeth » Wed Aug 09, 2017 5:29 am

I'm working with a lengthy Eviews8 program to implement an IHSM model. In that program I have the following line:

> fetch(d={%wfpathpwd}eviewsdb,c=q,c=a) {%wfpathpwd}eviewsdb::linkpass

As might be obvious, "wfpathpwd" is a location, eviewsdb is the main DB we use to store info passing between various routines and other models, and linkpass is as follows:

> group linkpass CNCSR CDFHER CDMVR CDMVPAR CDOR CNOR CDRECIPPCR CNFR CSVFR _
> CNOTOBR CNEFAOR CNOPMPR CNEGAOR CSVHHR CSVUR CSVHR CSVHCR _
> CSVOR CSVTSPUBOR CSVTSMVOLSR CSVTSMVXLSR CSVRECR CSVOOR _
> IFNREEIPCCR IFNREEIPCTR IFNREEIPCSR IFNREEIPOR IFNREEINDR _
> IFNREETACR IFMVNATLR IFNREETOR IFNREEOR IFSR GFMLGIR GFOGIR _
> GSLGIR IIR GFMLR GFOR GSLR XGFFBR XGINR XGKCAEPR XGKCPPR _
> XGKOR XGAUTOR XGCR XGOR XSVTOTR MGFFBR MGINR MGPETR MGKCAEPR _
> MGKCPPR MGKOR MGAUTOR MGCR MGOR MSVTOTR
>
> smpl 1990 {%mamlastyr}
> store(d={%wfpathpwd}eviewsdb) {%wfpathpwd}eviewsdb::linkpass

During execution I am getting the following error:

> Near singular matrix in "FETCH(D=R:\OUTPUT\LINK\D080917C\EVIEWSDB,C=Q,C=A R:\OUTPUT\LINK\D080917C\EVIEWSDB::LINKPASS".

So this is with the path printed, but as you can see I'm getting the matrix error but in a fetch; any idea what's going on here?

Sounds like you have a copy of EViews where the error codes are messed up. What is the build date of your copy (Help->About EViews)

"Sep 8 2015 build"

Unfortunately, this is on a shared server space and I may not have control over the build; any idea if I can get around this?

Not that I can think of. Unfortunately EViews 8 is so old it is no longer supported.

Weird. That's a very out of date EV9, but it is odd. I think we'd need a copy of the database.

I tried attaching here and it says invalid extension (.edb); am I doing something wrong?
