Hello, together I am a new Eviews user and have a problem to adjust my data for seasonality
I downloaded quarterly PPP data and want to adjust them for seasonality.
When ever I run the X12 Census Test with default options I get the error message:
"x12 has returned an error message. Check the error message and rerun."
I neither know how to find the error message nor how to solve the problem. I appreciate your help. Thanks!
I am using eviews 7 on windows xp.
On the internet I just found out problems withj older versions of eviews

Re: Error X12 Census seasonal adjustment
The series of interest are all seasonally adjusted by using the X12 Census method (with default settings). I did not see any errors....

Re: Error X12 Census seasonal adjustment
Thanks a lot! Is it possible that it is a compatibility bug between eviews7 and Windows XP. I found the same problem on th internet with eviews 4 and 5 (http://www.eviews.com/download/older/censusx12.html). Unfortunately I do not have admin right on this computer that I was not able to install the patch.

Re: Error X12 Census seasonal adjustment
hi
i`m trying to do seasonal adjustment for quarterly data but it has an error message: the following x-13 output files couldn`t be found(SEATS may have detected no seasonality): D11.
also when i use x-12, it has an error message:you can`t run census x-11/x-12 from a shared directory which has spaces in its name.
please help me, i don`t know what`s the problem

Re: Error X12 Census seasonal adjustment
Hello,
Regarding X-12, based on that error message I suspect that the default temporary directory location being used to execute X-12 is incompatible with X-12's limitations. Try changing the EViews setting for that location to something without spaces. The setting can be found in Options -> General Options... -> File locations -> Temp File Path.
Regarding X-13, that same temporary directory location will hold the files generated by X-13. There should be a file ending with ".err" (I believe the default name is "EVX13TMP.err") that is a simple text file containing any error messages generated by X-13. It may contain more clues about what has gone wrong.
