Graphics Fill and Background color

After creating nice charts with EViews I just want to copy it in presentation slides (PPT ;o(
But this stylized presentation format has a multi-blue background colour. Hence, the EViews charts with white background look not beautiful!
Is there a way to change the color of the frame-fill and the background color to a transparency mode?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately not, you can not specify a transparent fill colour.

You could, I suppose, set the frame fill to a specific colour (say bright green), then save the graph as a image file, open that image file in a graphics editing program and then change that colour to transparent.

Try this, it works for me in PowerPoint 2007:

1) Paste the chart into PowerPoint.
2) Right click the chart and select EDIT PICTURE and select YES when asked to convert it into a Mircrosoft Office drawing object.
3) Right click an open area of the chart and select FORMAT PICTURE and then FILL. You can play with the background fill from there.

Enjoy...

Thanks it works!
(But you have to copy the EViews chart as WMF-File.)

See the graph.save proc.

For the formats which support transparent formats, you can set the background to transparent.

Note: you cannot set the graph fill to transparent however. This is the area within the axis

Jason, I was hoping this issue would be addressed in V10. Just upgraded, and still can't set chart fill to transparent. Is this even on the radar as a feature users would like to have? Being forced to use a color background for chart fills is a major inconvenience. Basically, it means that anyone generating slides for presentations is forced to use a color background for their slides that is determined by Eviews. Or, as I tend to do, not use Eviews for charts for presentations. I guess I should add my 2c to the Suggestions & Requests Board.

Sorry, my post was imprecise. I should not have used the term "background color" anywhere. I am specifically interested in being able to make the chart fill transparent.

Thanks
Carl

We will look into adding the feature to EViews 11 when saving a graph to disk.

Jason,

Do you happen to have any updates on whether a transparent fill option is being considered for Eviews 11.?

Thanks
Carl
