descriptive scat plot - check for heterogenicity

I am a novice and I am performing a multi regression model, I want to check my raw data for heterogenicity, how can I do this in eviews??

It isn't 100% clear what you're asking here, but possibly you should click on View->Stability Diagnostics->Leverage Plots (EViews 7 only).

I want to check the distribution of the data... The is data regarding the # of cigarettes persons smoke (from 0-40 independent variable) and data about the weight of children when born (dependent varaible)

I have the student version I dont find the options you describe... I dont have "View->Stability Diagnostics->Leverage Plots"

It is eviwes 7 though...,

Sorry Gareth, I see now that this is eviews 6..... :(

But, it must be possible to make a scatter plot with an dependent and independent variable to visualiy controll for heteregenicity??

You can open up those two variables as a group (just select them both, right click, open as group), then click on View->Graph, and select Scatter.
