DATETIME BLOOMBERG ERROR

Postby leocaza » Fri May 03, 2019 2:05 pm

Hi,

Refering to this post : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19753

When you fixed the BLOOMBERG FETCH "length" error message with the last patch (04-15-19), you introduce a new error (an old error). Bloomberg fetching is not working anymore.

Error : Database Error: Bloomberg library error: 'String was not recognized as a valid DateTime'
(like this one viewtopic.php?t=18573)

Please, can you patch it again to fix the Datetime. Thanks

Regards,
LC

For which mnemonic are you getting that error? There are 3 mnemonics mentioned in http://forums.eviews.com/viewtopic.php?t=18573: RAPTUSME, "cngdpqoq index" , and "cngdpqoq index".

The latter 2 work fine.

The first for me is returning "Bloomberg library error: 'Invalid security RAPTUSME", which would imply that mnemonic no longer exists. I should note however "raptusme index" does fetch properly.

Hi,

I don't think the mnemonics are the problems because they were working fine before we install the latest patch (april 15 2019). As an exemple, we are using a code to fetch multiples mnemonics. Since we installed the latest patch we can't fetch some of those mnemonics anymore. Instead, we get the error message: Database error: Bloomberg library error: 'String was not recognised as a valid DateTime.' in Fetch(D=bloom)("mnemonics name here").

I put a list of some of the mnemonics that we can't fetch anymore.

MNEMONICS: GSERMUS GSERMWD GSERMEA GSERMEM GSERMDM GSERMUK GSERMAU GSERMJP GSERMCA GSERMLA GSUSCAI GSCNCAI GSGLCAI GSEACAI GSEMCAI GSINCAI GSBRCAI GSMXCAI GSAUCAI GSJPCAI GSCACAI GSTRCAI GSKRCAI GSGBCAI GSARCAI GSZACAI GSCOCAI GSSECAI GSRUCAI GSIDCAI GSCLCAI GSPHCAI GSCZCAI GSNZCAI GSSGCAI GSHUCAI GSTHCAI GSNOCAI GSPLCAI GSTWCAI GSMYCAI GSPECAI GSHKCAI GSILCAI GSROCAI S0042FC S0147FC S0083FC S0193FC S0089FC S0329FC S0133FC S0141FC S0254FC S0312FC S0020FC S0319FC S0324FC S0322FC S0164FC S0179FC S0162FC S0018FC S0225FC S0159FC S0198FC S0195FC S0181FC S0046FC S0057FC S0039FC S0081FC S0044FC S0172FC S0041FC S0010FC S0229FC S0216FC

Best regards,
MAF

Would you mind emailing me at jason@eviews.com and referencing this thread? Emailing would be much quicker in determining the exact issue.

Hi,

I have been having the same issues. I ran a program that worked perfectly just this monday, and now each time I try to fetch something, I have the same error message: Database error: Bloomberg library error: 'String was not recognised as a valid DateTime.' in Fetch(D=bloom)("mnemonics name here").

I don't know what's causing the problem.

Francois:

If you haven't already, please make sure you are using the latest EViews patch by running EViews and then going to the Help menu/EViews Update.

If you still have issues, please email jason@eviews.com with the details of your error and also the text output from the SUPPORTINFO command within EViews (just type that command into the EViews command window and hit Enter - then copy and paste the text output into your email).
