I am trying to copy data from some workfiles and for some reason I dont understand, the initial date is not preserved.

Say the original I am trying to copy is specified like this:
1980q1 NA
1980q2 NA
1980q3 NA
1980q4 101
.
.
.
1987q3 131
1987q4 136
.
.
.
I use the command:
Copy arkiv\june\file.wf1::q\fas q\fas

This gets copied into:
1980q1 131
1980q2 136

WHY???

ALL series that I am trying to copy from file.wf1 are shifted in this way!!! What can I do about it?

Without seeing exactly what you are doing, it is hard to say.
