SMPL IF X > Y

Postby LTURNER » Fri Dec 22, 2017 4:47 am

Hi,

I am using Eviews 10, and I am trying to determine my sample as follows:

Code: Select all

 SMPL IF X > Y

where X and Y are two time series of the same periodicity and length.

Is this possible? I have not had any success in implementing it. I get the error:

Code: Select all

Error in Sample: X is not defined in "SMPL IF X > Y".

There isn't any indication this is possible on the help pages, and I checked the forum and couldn't find any info:
http://www.eviews.com/help/helpintro.ht ... -smpl.html

Thanks for your support.

Laurence

Yes it is possible. Sounds like you do not have a series called “X”

Hi Gareth,

Thanks for the quick response - evidently the answer was staring me right in the face...

Wishing you a very merry Christmas,

Laurence
